A Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
I am now home after a month away house/doggy sitting and limited internet access, I had two blissful weeks off work, where I did nothing but read, sleep and went for swims in the pool!I had a very nice Christmas with the family, having two of my cousins join us from Canberra, I hadn't had a Christmas together with them since I was quite young, so it was quite special, and wow we cooked the best turkey ever!
I made Christmas cupcakes for my lovely co-workers, and even though the season is well and truely over, I wanted to share pictures of them...

I usually have an aversion to shopping and the post Christmas sales especially, I just can't handle the crowds, but I managed to spend a fortune in the very cool sleepwear store Peter Alexander. I was so overjoyed by this find I had to share...
Isn't the vintage kitty illustration print on these pyjama pants just FABULOUS!?

So for my New Years Resolutions I have set two goals. I did not want to make the same old crappy 'loose weight' goals. So with some thought, I have decided to have a cupcake sale most likely at work, to raise money for a different animal charity every month. If you have any favourite animal causes you would like to recommend, please let me know!
The other goal of course being selling tote bags on Etsy, I have finished one new one over the break, but would like to complete a few more before opening for business!

So here's to a fabulous New Year!

Hi Jessy! So glad to have you back, sounds like you had an excellent holiday! I know I miss spending Xmas with my cousins, last time was back in 04. The cupcakes look scrumptious, my favourite being the pepermint ones...I think. Thay all look so good! Those pjs! Ohhh I'm so jealous!!! Lucky lucky you!
You could do a charity one for Capricorn Animal Aid, the charity I work for. If you do let me know and I can email you a pamphlet so that you can share them around. Maybe it's a little far away, so look around your area for a similar charity perhaps? RSPCA definetly. The Jane McGrath foundation would be great, then you get to make pink fluffy cupcakes! The Steve Irwin wildlife warriers. WIRES. WWF um, that's all the animal charities I can think of atm.
Hugs to you Jess!
Ooooooh, FAB jammies!
That is a fantastic idea, the cupcakes-for-animals sale! As far as who to give the money to, RSPCA seems like a pretty god mob to me, I believe they spend most of the donations directly on their shelters... some of the larger international organisations are surprising with what they spend their money on, a large proportion goes on marketing instead of directly being spent on the animals it seems.
If you wanted to to take another approach, you could look at charities that preserve the habitat of wild animals, like world wildlife fund, or if you wanted to VISIT your animal you could sponsor one at a zoo!
How great you want to raise money for an animal charity. If I were your co-worker I'd buy a lot of cupcakes from you! Happy belated New Year! Those kitty PJ's sure brighten my day!
Glad your back after a wonderful vacation!! Those kitty pj are very cute, and I think they will look darling on you! Good luck with raising money for the animals I think its a devine idea!
